How Not To Hold A Filter

I noticed a bit of a happy accident while taking this shot. I had been handholding a ND Grad Filter and didn't have it tight to the lens and noticed the reflection of the tree behind me. A bit of a ghost in the top left, but it filled some otherwise dead space nicely.

I love pictures with glass and reflections. The two pics here were taken during the annual "Photo Marathon" in Vienna, Austria.

#1 - a glass luster reflected around a candle on a marble table in a hotel lobby in Vienna.

#2 - reflection of a typical building on Schwarzenberg Platz, Vienna, in the window of Café Schwarzenberg. Unfortunately it was a cloudy day or the picture would have been even better.

Visit to an Old Gasoline Service Station

Many years ago, a local oil company built their service stations in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area to look like Japanese pagodas. There are very few left, and the one in Cedarburg, Wisconsin is now a retail store for a local custom jewelry designer/maker. The little store is located next to an old mill now used as an animal feed store.

A Morning At Binder Lake

Last Saturday morning we took a drive to peaceful little Binder Lake near Jefferson City, Mo.  The fog had just disappeared from the lake leaving a bit of a mist in the air.  We were there mostly by ourselves except for a few early morning joggers, but by about 10 am, there were people setting sail in small colorful sail boats at the far end of the lake.  However, Geese were honking and gliding to perfect landings on the still water at the location we were parked.  So, this is where I focused my attention.  My wife napped in the car while I shot these.

Last night my family were all out doing their things, so I took myself to the Elk Park, it was an enjoyable evening.  Not happy with the photos I took, but I still had a nice time.   This is the first view when you  come into the park, it is so pretty.   Tree with Lake

Took a couple close ups of my littlest duckie.  Out of about twenty, you get to view only a couple (feel lucky).  The littlest duckie. How small? This small.

The last picture is for the weekly challenge: two duckies, two objects, and a double reflection!

Times from the past:
A stump with a hint of the future.
A tree showing a hint of of its former gloriousness.
Past rain (normally I don't like sun flares, but I think it adds a little something to this one.)

Times for the future:
A flower bed waiting for a future time
Future something (was working on DOF, but got too much.)

I'm really enjoying the new camera, it does just great on flowers.
