what's the story, morning glory?
B&W's
Yes it is true. I was stalking the Dang. You guys are starting to get on my nerves.
Here I am, desperately trying to catch up with the last three challenges and y'all start a fourth one while I'm not looking.Well, Fine.
Let's see. The challenges are: Architecture, Reflections, Signs and now Strangers. I think I've gotten them covered this week:
The Capitol at night and
Washington Monument at Night cover the Reflections and Architecture categories, and I'll throw these in as proof I know how to take pictures during the day, too:
Washington Monument by Day, and
Udvar-Hazy Center
For the Signs challenge, I offer this cheating entry:
and for a straight reflection I offer this:
Now, for the subject of strangers, I'm afraid I can only offer one stranger, and one person doing something strange:
On that last picture, I swear I've no connection to that girl, I don't care what her mother says!

The last of my signs
Yesterday we went up to my favorite place on the island, Poli Poli. It's Here are some of the flowers that I saw while I was there.
Last minute signs entry
I have thoroughly enjoyed the many signs posted during this challenge. As I went back through some of my photos I realized how many sign photos I already had. In keeping with the rules though, I went out and took new sign photos. Here's a "story."
Sometimes I walk around taking photos just because. I see a simple
scene, or what I think is simple. It turns out there is hidden garbage in that dumpster labeled "General Forum." I've walked by a hundred times, never bothering to look in the dumpster. Imagine my surprise.
Inside the "Forum" lurks
hidden dangers.
The calm facade, is merely that:
a false image, a mask if you will, for deep undercurrents.
Sometimes, things are put together that
don't really belong together, things I had no idea existed.
So here is my sign entry; you can ignore everything previous.
The
Perrine Bridge, which passes over the Snake River in Twin Falls, is dedicated to, and guarded by,
IB Perrine.
Even this plaque has
hidden colors brought out through some
saturation adjustment.
Sign Challenge Ends Tonight. April 8, 11:59PM PST
Well it's about time to wrap up the signs challenge. You're probably getting pretty sick of signs now anyway! Thanks to everybody that participated, I tried to comment on each and every one but there have been so many posts lately I've had a hard time keeping up. If I missed someone it was an oversight on my part and not a slight to you. You submitted some great signs but more importantly you all got out and took some photos and that's what's important.I can't wait to see what Jayhuff has in store for the next challenge. Well, thanks again for your submissions and thanks for getting me involved. I feel like part of the "family" now. You guys are great!
I thought I'd post this a little early cause I have some stuff to do and I wanted to make sure I got this in.
The Park and More!

Signs, ehh?

Here's the sign for the
bar downstairs from our apartment. I'm not a big drinker and I've only been there a few times, but it is definitely a dive. There are some eerie and sad stories connected with a couple of people who frequent this place. They have karaoke nights every Saturday, which we hear pretty clearly, especially during the summer.
Signs-Whos Chicken
You would think a very Famous Chicken establishment would be able to spell their product correctly on its sign...oh no...this "Chiken" stayed on the sign for more than a month!! Funny thing is a well known roast beef Restaurant across the street advertised a "Chicken" sandwich, spelled correctly, for about the same time!?!?Is This Heaven?
It's the Cub's Home Opener today on Chicago's North Side. I had to work. But just this past Monday, I was out hunting for a sign :)
I could hear the wind singing through the fence, calling back the Ghost Players
I love(d) this movie.
"Is this Heaven? No, it's Iowa."
Thanks for looking.
