Sky's the Limit 3
In June we brought a kitten home, our grandaughter, Mckenna (age 6) got her pappaw to agree to bring the little one home with us, have never had a cat before--so far the cat has stayed--he must have only been 4 or 5 wks old at the time..I told Mckenna she could name the kitten and the name she chose is Spot--so here are a couple of photos of Spot with the sky in view so will click it for the challenge......

Challenge--Sky's the Limit
Finally able to get back on site and upload--
This past Saturday at the museum was a tribute to WW II vets--there were just a few old birds flying around--did not have my stronger lens with me but believe you can tell that these are planes that the veterans really enjoy seeing in the air--Wicked Wabbit (P-47) Ain't Misbehavin (P-51) and HunHunter (P-47) In Flight and one of HunHunter All Alone
A few months ago was in Middle TN and this setting caught my eye--with the blue sky thought it would fit the sky challenge...

Sunrise

Well, after a long rainy weekend, 20 degree temperature drops and one overcast day, the sun finally decided to make it's appearance this morning. It was too pretty to pass up, so I got my little point and shoot out of my purse, snapped a shot from my front yard and then took a few more for good measure when I got down the road.
Again, these were taken with a panasonic p&s camera. And two while driving. Not the best quality ever, but I thought they fit the challenge. And seeing as I haven't shot anything in 2 months, I'm gonna share :-)
In a very hot part of the country ...

there is always theCool of the Morning
[This is a panorama using 5 photos taken with 18mm lens.]
Yesterday was ...

... a bit tense in the KC area. We spent a lot time watching a Stormy Sky hoping there wouldn't be a tornado. No such luck for Sedalia.

Where The Blues meet in horizon

Taken in Acadia National Park, Maine.
Acadia is a smallish national park compared to others, but the beauty is unparalleled. If you happen to stay in east coast, don't forget to pay a visit.Best time is during falls .. but as you see in this photo, you won't be disappointed even if you travel during the oddest season (I traveled there in December!).
Bi-Weekly Challenge -- Spring Has Sprung

Best of 2009 - Things
Best of 2009--Landscape
Sure has been a lot of Landscape photos shown lately, hope no one is getting tired of seeing them..to me there is always something different in each one, even when same area is shown by so many different perspectives/people. This past year there has not been a lot of pics by me, am hoping that this year will be different. Of the scenes taken this is one of my better ones (at least to me)--taken on Boston trip in Oct.09
A prayer for this year is that we all see an improvement in all aspects of our life/ better Good Will toward Mankind, and please be good to yourself.
Slight Perspective

Last week I had the opportunity to fly in a B17, and believe me it sure was different than flying in a regular commercial plane...There was one gentleman on the plane who tried to tell me of an experience he had on a B17 during the war (he was 19 at the time). I really like hearing the stories that the veterans have to tell (the ones who will talk about their experience)--one time there was a gentlemen who had been captured and he told me some of the story of what he endured trying to escape (which he eventually was able to do).
inside the plane looking through open canapy..... Sky 2
This paticular plane did not see action during the war, it was built in 1945 but too late to participate Plane 2
I just cannot imagine the ones who sat in the 'hole' and did what was necessary at the time Gunnery
A big thanks to ALL Veterans
Hope all of you have a good day and thanks for looking.
Just another Space
I'm very partial to sunsets, and I think their one of the most beautiful examples of negative space to be had.
Shorelines and water do a wonderful job too.
Thanks For looking.

Silhouettes over Lake Michigan in Port Washington, WI

As Karen and I enjoyed dinner with my sister and brother-in-law at Newport Shores Restaurant, located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Port Washington, WI, we noticed lightning over the land some distance to the north - perhaps over Sheboygan, WI. As we ate, we watched the lightning moving ever eastward - first over the lake and then toward Michigan on the far side of the lake. It finally disappeared off into the skies of Michigan. As we were leaving the restaurant, we marveled at the dramatic sky in the east. I asked my sister and brother-in-law to let me take a couple shots of them. They wanted to pose as you see in the thumb, and then I asked them to turn and look out over the lake. The sky was breathtakingly beautiful.
