THOUGHTS GOING ON IN MY HEAD!!!!

By miamisolider written 3/13/06 8:07 AM, published 3/13/06 8:07 AM
Sitting here Wondering,
Pondering, thoughts going on in my head
how could this ever happen?
I sat here
Looking at a wilted white rose
Then I started to remember the first day we met
I shook my head, not Trying or wanting to remember, Just to get rid of the pain I am feeling
Unbreakable
Unspeakable thoughts
I started to feel the rain from my eyes that burned like fire
I'm sitting here waiting for eternity without you,
Gone like the wind
I could remember your last words. The last thing you said was "I love you"
And now I have no choice but to cry these unbreakable tears and won't stop crying until I see you again....

I spent this afternoon at Popup LinkArlington Cemetary.  Seeing the  Popup Linksea of headstones was very sobering.  It really makes day to day hassels fade into the background.  Seeing how many men and women gave their lives so I could live the way I do is Popup Linkhumbling.

Soldiers from different Popup Linkareas  and different times are represented.  I found the markers of the Popup Linkcrew of the two lost  Popup Linkshuttles.  One had obviousely been recently  Popup Linkvisited.

And we can't forget our Popup LinkUnknown Soldier.  The grave is somberly watched by a  Popup Linklone guard. There were easily over 70 people watching and you could hear a pin drop, the silence was so deep.

Many of us are quick to thank our soldiers on holidays like Veteran's Day or Memorial Day.  We should thank them much more often.  For many of these graves represent the ultimate sacrifice: their lives due to their belief in their country and what it represents.  So please hug a soldier and thank them for what they do.

This post is about one of the people I admire most in this world. He's spent 34 years protecting me and 19 years protecting us all. This is about my big brother Jim. He took these photos and sent them to me, so he's the photographer in this post.

Jim is a Sargent in the United States Army 3rd Infintry Division. He was called to duty before the war broke out in Kuwait. He was one of the first to cross the border when everything started. It was very difficult not knowing where he was or if he was ok, but what was even more difficult was watching our Mom worry about her son for a year while he was there. There was almost no communication with him except for an occasional email or phone call to Mom when he could find a chance or the line wasn't 4 hours long at the phone area. He saw alot in that year and doesn't talk about it much but he came home safe and sound Thank God! We know we were lucky to have him come home but for many families, they weren't that lucky. So thank you to all service people past and present for everything you do to keep us all safe. And thanks Jim for being a great "Big" brother. I'm so very proud of you!

I'm sorry there are so many photos but I wanted to share them all because they are important.
