I too have some Arachnid shots. If you have arachnophobia it is probably best you stay away. ;)

This was taken at the Allegheny State Park. I started by taking a photo of this flower (not the best shot) whatIstoppedfor.

Then this caught my eye  Whats_this

It turned out to be this  Lunch_time

This Is the spider that lives in my garden  My garden spider  My he grew while I was gone.

Enjoy and don't forget that camera. ;)

Someone suggested that I could fill the spot of jimmyneutron in my posting yesterday.  He is one of my mentors and heros, but I could never take over for him while he is gone.  He knows far more than I do about nature.  I enjoy nature, he knows nature.

I have been reworking some shots and looking at some new ones to try to decide on something to enter in the local fair.  What do you think of these?

It was very foggy this morning; great day for a walk!  I didn't get very far before I turned around and went back home to get my camera.  I hope you enjoy the gallery; it even has some ~shudder~ spiders in it.

I don't know why, but I keep getting drawn back to these darn spiders. Each time I see them out there I want to take another shot. I showed some of the spider pics to a guy at work yesterday and he said he saw one just like that in his garden. I asked if he took a picture of it, he said, "No, I took my flipflop off and smacked him" Oh well, different strokes, etc.

Here they are:

As the summer season winds down I keep telling myself "enough insect pics", but the opportunities keep coming and I cannot resist.

I don't know what kind of spider this is, but found him to be beautifully colored Popup LinkSpider After taking several shots of him, I noticed his shadow on the fence Popup LinkSpider Shadow It is not a writing spider, as this one is Popup LinkWriting Spider

These little green worms (Larvae?) showed up on a scrub pine. I have no idea what they are, if you know, share it with me. When you see these on a shrub the first instinct might be to spray them with insecticide, but, I do not do this because it might just be my next year's best butterfly shot  Popup LinkUnknown Worms

And this struggling dandelion seed got caught up in the web Popup LinkCaught in the web

I cannot resist and opportunity for a grasshopper shot Popup LinkGrasshopper 1 Popup LinkGrasshopper 2

And finally, I want to share this story with you. I took my newspaper, coffee, and my Sausage-Egg-Cheese bagel to the deck for a little relaxation. I went back into the house for a napkin, and came back. In this photo, DO YOU SEE MY BAGEL?! Popup LinkGargoyle well fed Gargoyle does not realize it, but death lurks very near, and if he had taken my coffee, well, enough said. I hope the little jerk enjoyed the bagel and I hope it runs his cholesterol up!
