I have replaced my Nikon D40 with a Nikon D90.  I love it!

Before I put My D40 on Ebay to sell I took some last Pictures of My friends at the bird feeder.

I have my Dads sigma lens (120-400 optical stabilizer). I have been having some trouble using it but I did figure out to to fix the camera settings to get better pics. With it being so gloomy and cold I have to set the ISO and the exposure set up higher. Also The speed setting.

Well any way I had a opportunity to try this this morning. The neighborhood stray cats are terrorizing the bird feeder and the squirrels. Here are the pictures I got of the 'Cat and Squirrel' games. Most of the pictures were taken through the window in my house.

Remember this little guy. he_survived    hello_there    does_remember_me  (does he remember me)

I was not sure if he did make it, but earlier this week I saw him up at his nest hole running around. He did not go far and he looks healthy and happy.

I'm feel so good that I did a good deed. ( although my pay back was the squirrels chewed through my phone line and We were with out a phone for a weekend) Oh well. Thanks for looking. ;)

Mother and Child Reunion

Here is a story to share that if you are a parent and have a heart will make you shed a tear of joy.

Yesterday I witness a baby squirrel fall from a tree and it was a horrible sight to see. I thought for sure the baby was not a live. I went to get something to put it into so my kids did not find it. When I went to pick it up It was still moving. I got a box to put it into thinking that it may not survive for long and put it in the back yard. Later that evening I went to check on it and to my surprise it was still alive and moving around. Well I was not sure what I was going to do. so I checked in with a internet friend to find out if he knew anyone that takes in baby squirrels. He sent me some info. In the mean time I found out some info about what to do in this kind of situation. I found out that the mother will take it back if I left it in the box at the tree base. Well it was too late in the evening to do this and I brought the baby squirrel in the house for the night. My hubby was not thrilled, but he knows me and did not argue about it.

At 7am this morning I got up and checked on the little guy and He was doing fine except he needed to be fed. Well I took the box with his blanket out to the tree and within 5 minutes.......

Well you can see for your self.

 Squirrel reunion

There was another baby that looked like a cat got to it at the other side of the tree when I found this one. She did try looking for that one.

The look on her little face melted my heart when she came down the tree to me.

Enjoy the story and photos ( not the best set due to taking through the screen door. )
