Minnesota State Fair 2006 Finale

This is the last of my images from the 2006 Minnesota State Fair.  I'm interested in your opinion.  Do you prefer the Popup Linkblack & white or Popup Linkcolor version?

I was attracted to the light streaming in at the far end of the barn.  And who can resist all those steel girders.

Because of the desire to bring out some of the details in the shadows without blowing out the highlights I did work this a little in CS2.  Nothing extreme, just a little masking.

Minnesota State Fair 2006 Part II: Sleeping

During our day at the fair on Friday we saw lots of Popup Linksleeping going on.  I don't think I'd sleep so close to that end of a cow's anatomy.  Popup LinkSleeping in the barns seemed to be the most popular.  Of course we saw Popup Linkanimals sleeping too, like this Popup Linkporker who won the biggest bore contest weighing in at 1,040 pounds.  But my recollection is that we saw more Popup Linkhuman-types sleeping than animals.  You might be able to tell from this last shot that I was very nearly on the same plane as my subject.  Hmmm, I wonder why.  zzzzz

Yesterday we spent practically the entire day at the Minnesota State Fair.  One of the themes of the day was animal fashion statements. Get the nerve of this Popup Linkhorse wearing Anna's top. This one looks like a Popup Linkthrowback to the sixties. And here's a Popup Linkcool dude among some fashion-challenged friends.  Tomorrow, the sleeping theme.

Minnesota State Fair

Yesterday we attended the Minnesota State Popup LinkFair. We definitely picked the worst day because it rained solid the entire time. To get out of the rain we spent most of our time in the livestock barns.  That's where we saw these beautiful dairy Popup Linkgoats. We also enjoyed the Popup Linkhens and Popup Linkroosters. Of course, no trip to the Minnesota State Fair is complete without a helping of deep-fried Popup Linkcheese curds. No supper for any of us!
