This is the last of my images from the 2006 Minnesota State Fair.  I'm interested in your opinion.  Do you prefer the black & white or color version?

I was attracted to the light streaming in at the far end of the barn.  And who can resist all those steel girders.

Because of the desire to bring out some of the details in the shadows without blowing out the highlights I did work this a little in CS2.  Nothing extreme, just a little masking.

During our day at the fair on Friday we saw lots of sleeping going on.  I don't think I'd sleep so close to that end of a cow's anatomy.  Sleeping in the barns seemed to be the most popular.  Of course we saw animals sleeping too, like this porker who won the biggest bore contest weighing in at 1,040 pounds.  But my recollection is that we saw more human-types sleeping than animals.  You might be able to tell from this last shot that I was very nearly on the same plane as my subject.  Hmmm, I wonder why.  zzzzz

Yesterday we spent practically the entire day at the Minnesota State Fair.  One of the themes of the day was animal fashion statements. Get the nerve of this horse wearing Anna's top. This one looks like a throwback to the sixties. And here's a cool dude among some fashion-challenged friends.  Tomorrow, the sleeping theme.

Yesterday we attended the Minnesota State Fair. We definitely picked the worst day because it rained solid the entire time. To get out of the rain we spent most of our time in the livestock barns.  That's where we saw these beautiful dairy goats. We also enjoyed the hens and roosters. Of course, no trip to the Minnesota State Fair is complete without a helping of deep-fried cheese curds. No supper for any of us!
