Beautiful day pt 4... Last but not Least
There was one more item on my agenda Sunday morning. If I was going to be shooting still lifes I wanted to get a picture of the wedding band I bought for michael. I did a shoot with my engagement ring so I figured I'd do a shoot with his ring. Let me know what you think!
Thanks for looking and for all the comments this week!
Beautiful day pt 3... winding down
Good thing these were some of the last of the day. If the neighbors thought I was crazy just lying on the ground taking pictures, they would have thought I was loony pulling out a martini glass, some cherry brandy (because I need to buy some vodka) and cran-apple juice. Trust me... it doesn't taste good... at all! At least the pictures looked good (and if they don't, enlighten me please :-).
Happy Hump Day!
Bi Weekly Challenge ~ Still Life
When things suck I go driving with my camera, so this weekend it was time and since I have been missing the elk I drove there. My entry for still life is:
Of course I have to post some of the other things at the park :o)
The bird might be blurry, I couldn't tell as I think the background was messing with my eyes, my family said it was in focus. I was taking pics of an elk and he popped in for a second and was gone, didn't have much time to do anything but hope for the best.
Thanks for looking. Have a Wonderful day! :o)
Beautiful day pt 2
As I stated yesterday I took some time on Sunday to set up still lifes outside. While I had the good weather I grabbed anything and everything I might want to take pictures of. Some things worked, some didn't. This next set I think worked very well. My mother gave them to me recently. They were at the jewerly store where I bought Michael's wedding band in the "previously treasured" collection. They're in mint condition and just beautiful. I can't wait to wear them!
It was absolutely gorgeous all weekend. Saturday Michael and I ran errands, but Sunday we stayed home. While Michael did some stuff around the house (no, he wasn't doing my chores... he was mostly cleaning out the carport which was a mess because of him) I made an impromptu studio outside in the sun. I took a blanket outside to lay on and various still life objects to play around with. At one point I could hear Michael talking to our neighbor... he was trying to figure out why I was laying down on the ground with a camera. And I thought going behind the shed would prevent the funny looks from passersby. Oh well... I'll become the neighborhood crazy one way or another.
First up in my long line of posts, I have a tribute for Mr. Q... and the Pirate.
Thanks for looking, all comments and critiques are appreciated!
How Still Can We Be?
I read the challenge, and I told myself that "Still Life" really isn't what I've been into. Then, leave it to Sharon (my other half) to say "what do you mean"?!? You have a ton of this stuff! Of course, she was right. Some I've even taken for other stuff in here, but not used. So, this is my little shot at it.

More fun with still life
This is a festive one for the holidays:
I rescued this poor creature from the cats, who were dragging it around their scratching post. I think they were finished with it anyway, as I'm sure they realized it contained no meat.
Here's a fun photomanipulation/collage I made out of props and backgrounds:
