Some stuff from Shanghai, China

From my last business trip to Shanghai, earlier this month.  All of this stuff was taken while wandering the streets aimlessly one morning when I had a few hours to kill.  Street photography is great, especially when it's someplace far from home.

For those that might be familiar with Shanghai, these were taken in what's known as the old "French Concession" area. right around Huaihai, Maoming and Shanxxi roads.

And from the public park right across from the Fashion Market, a variety of activites, all happening at once:

...not sure if this is the best stuff from my trip, but it happened to be the memory card I grabbed first...

Recently spent a week working in Taipei, which is a fascinating Asian city.  Although the weather was mostly too hot and too overcast, I did manage to shoot some decent photos (I think, anyhow).

Longshan Temple is a national landmark. Popup LinkIMG14 Popup LinkIMG15

And there are a few historical monuments, such as the National Theatre and the CKS Memorial Hall,  Popup LinkIMG13 Popup LinkIMG12 Popup LinkIMG9 which I really wish I could have photographed at night.

The Danshui River is a cool place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon, especially since it's not really a tourist destination Popup LinkIMG8 Popup LinkIMG7 Popup LinkIMG6  popup> Popup LinkIMG6a
The Night Markets are when the city seems to really come alive Popup LinkIMG10 but they look totally different and a lot more subdued the next morning !Popup LinkIMG2.

Finding breakfast was always an adventure Popup LinkIMG5 Popup LinkIMG1, especailly at rush hour Popup LinkIMG4, but it's really a beautiful and fascinating city. Popup LinkIMG3 Popup LinkIMG16

These pictures are from my trip to New Orleans the weekend before Thanksgiving. I was just now able to load them onto my computer. This is an above-ground cemetary. I had never seen one before. Popup LinkDESCRIPTION_HERE
This is a picture of a flower in front of a lady's house that we were able to help out. She was so proud of her flowers that survived. I like to call them the "flowers of hope."Popup LinkDESCRIPTION_HERE
This was a street in New Orleans, and I really liked the black and white touch to it.Popup LinkDESCRIPTION_HERE
And this is the X that they spray-painted on when searching for people. Popup LinkDESCRIPTION_HERE

We were walking down this narrow street in Gerona, when I called to my son who was ahead of me.  He turned around and gave me that look that every Mother with a camera has seen before.... that bored, please don't take another picture of me look...  but thought that his look and the street captured something special on this one!

When I took my pictures in Chicago, I walked past this unused store front and there it was, Popup LinkSomeones home.

And yes that is my reflection in the window.
