Last week, during lunch time, Howie and I took the Q train one stop from 34th street to historic Union Square Park located on 14th street.  A little photographic mini vacation.

You can stand in the first car of the older subway cars and look out the front window.  This is really exciting when you're a little boy and the subway is traveling underground.  You have to get there early to get a good spot to stand in the first car.

I haven't done it in a long time. But riding home tonight, I found myself walking up to the front of the train. The B train runs above ground from Sheapshead Bay to Brighton Beach.  The station at Brighton Beach is also a terminal point for the B train, so there's a lot of switches and cross over tracks.
