My attempt at the challenge.  Tried other things 'holding' the sun, but none turned out like I wanted.

From a recent walk around a lake.  The morning sun was coming up and the dew was aglistening.  I was able to capture the sun in these two.

Challenge: CHALLENGE: Catching the Sun

By Penny from Jun 24, 2008, to Jul 01, 2008

Thanks to The Old Guy for the rails challenge.  Also thanks to Vegas Stan for giving me the challenge

I was so excited when I got an email with beautiful pictures of people catching or holding the sun.  I wanted to do a challenge of it.  Wellllllllll.......the weather has done everything not to work with me for 2 weeks now.  It has been cloudy...bummer.

Here is the little of the sun I could catch:

1 The sun reflecting off of clouds

2 yet again

3  The sun through the fence at Michigan International Speedway

4  Oh wait there it is!  Just for a brief minute...

Now here are some examples from the email that gave me the idea.  This is really what I had in mind.  I hope I will be able to participate in the challenge and get shots like I really wanted to.

*THESE ARE EXAMPLES NOT TAKEN BY ME

6 (Not my photo)

6 (sorry about the double number)

8

*The object of this challenge is to catch the sun in, out of the ordinary places.  (not just regular sun sets. I know someone has posted a sun set with the sun behind the sails of a sailboat.  That is perfect! Catch it in odd places.  I really wish I had the sun to do like the shots I didn't take. That is what I am looking for.  I am still working on it....but still only clouds here.)

Next up is Cratchet.  I can't wait to see what she comes up with.

Beautiful Mexico

This spring, I got married in Cancun, Mexico.  It was a small ceremony, and a friend took pics of the wedding for Popup Linkus.  Each room had a view of the Popup Linkocean, and the resort was Popup Linkdecorated very nicely, as well.  We went parasailing and I took Popup Linkpictures of the hotel from the sky.  It was great fun, and the Popup Linksunsets were worth going for, on their own.
