On the Fourth in the afternoon we went out on the same lake that we observed the fireworks from.  We first saw these swans flying and later ran into them on the water.  They actually let us herd them with the boat.

Memorial Day

I adore this site and am deciding to jump in and give it a whirl!  I am just now getting a chance to go through my pictures from my adventures on Memorial Day.

I woke up early and was swept away to a beautiful, virtually untouched, beach.  Popup LinkSeagrass Tucked away in Milford, Connecticut I found Silver Sands State Park.  I spent the better part of the day walking the beach, gathering shells, pretty rocks and sun rays.  And trying not to step on the dozens of horseshoe crabs Popup LinkHorseshoe Crab that were dealing with a heavy dose of spring fever.  If you get my drift.  Pun intended.

From there the next stop was Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center where I was treated to flowers, great egrets, Popup LinkEgret osprey, cardinals, even more rustic shoreline and swans! Popup LinkSwans Yes, while I was walking the shore I turned around to head back and 22 (I counted them) swans had flown in and landed in the ocean that I had just strolled by.  Nature at it's best!

My son and I were on our way back home from an appt.  I like to take a back road that has a lot of wildlife.  Here is what we saw.

It started with me catching up on one of my Popup Linkmotivators for a little bit, then enjoying some Popup Linkmore Popup Linksights that Popup Linkmotivate me.  Things were going good.  Then, my husband decides he wants to go fishing.  That's good; I always enjoy the Popup Linkscenery if I'm not Popup Linkfishing.  About 10 minutes into the excursion, my husband has a little  Popup Linkaccident.  These aren't too good, cause I was driving the golf cart and trying to take  Popup Linkpics, too.  (At least I wasn't out on the highway...)  We ended up going to the ER to get the hook removed, and he came back looking like  Popup Linkthis!  Nothing would satisfy him but to go  Popup Linkfishing again!  And, to think the only thing he caught was his finger......
Hope y'all enjoy!
