The Slide
This is a hollowed out log that has been slid on so many times it has been polished. There is no green on the wood, it's just a brilliant reflection of the greenery overhead.

When we were at Frederick Meijer Gardens a few weeks ago I took some shots of orchids. I could not share them with you then because I wanted to show other things. So here are a few of them now - hope you like them. I am building a file on the Gardens because I know I will go there many times so I will space out the shots that I share with you.

Variety of Textures
Looking back at some textures I saw in Iowa there were a few more that I wanted to show you. Someone had mentioned how close the tree was to the old smokehouse door. I think that the tree must have grown after the people stopped using the smoke house. Here is another view of the smoke house with Filtered light on the side of it. This is a vine that looked like a bush, they called it a trumpet vine and when I was in Pella I saw it growing against a house as a vine. The old corncrib really needed a paint job and I noticed how much the paint had peeled since the last time I had seen it. On Thursday I took this shot of the center of a cornstalk and on Saturday I could not see over the top of the corn. This was a blade of prairie grass growing against the base of the corncrib. When visiting a model of an old part of Pella, Iowa I noticed all the many textures looking at this old street.

My granddaughter has a great love for animals.....I call her Ellie Mae

Texture Shot + One
The doggy was begging for a walk. The rain had just let up, so out we went for a walk around the yard. While my dog was taking care of business, I snapped a few shots. I was looking for that texture shot and I think I found one with this Tree Trunk Texture
Also, I couldn't help myself but to include a Flower Portrait shot of one of my wifes' flowers from the back yard. Hey...it was a long walk and the pup had lots of business to take care of. :)

Texture in the sky
Just a few shots today as I fall asleep at the computer I am so tired it has been a very busy day!I often go for a walk at sunset it really relaxes me and I thought I would share my walk today with you.It is really something to me how the sky can change fromthis to this in such a short period of time..And only in Iowa can the roads be this straight!!
