Visiting With Toad

By Lidljo written 6/23/08 8:07 AM, published 6/23/08 8:07 AM

I have a little toad living in my garden.  I have seen him probably a dozen times now, but finally got a picture of him this weekend.  After all, he is a little jumpy.  The first time I saw him, I almost stepped on him while shooting a flower.  Now every once in awhile when I am out looking at my flowers, he just shows up and sticks around for awhile.

This morning out in the yard we found a Popup Linktoad, so Amanda decided  Popup Linkto catch him because "he is her friend!" I also found these neat Popup Linkberries, I think this is a Rosalia(sp?) bush. If anyone knows please tell me. There was also this neat  Popup Linklantern that popped up in the flower garden.
Last I had to include this picture, I got the feeling I was intruding on their territory!Popup LinkShhhh! adult coming...

Toad Saga

By Lidljo written 6/2/06 2:18 PM, published 6/2/06 2:18 PM

Today was our class picnic.  One of my little boys is in love with frogs and toads, and wouldn't you know it, he found one today.  Shortly after lunch he brought me Popup Linkthis toad cradled in his hands.  I asked him what he thought we should do with Popup Linkhis toad.  He wanted to take him home, but I said that  Popup Linkhe wouldn't be happy there.  I finally convinced him to put Popup LinkJack the toad by a tree so he could be happy.  All afternoon all the children kept checking on Jack, and Popup Linkthis little toad stuck around, so they were sure he wanted to go with them.  I finally told them that I would give them each a picture of Jack, if we left him in the woods were he would be happiest.  So thus, you have the saga of Jack the toad and Lidljo's class.
