I'm finally getting around to doing some theme work...... spent lot of miles

I also did some portrait photography this weekend.  I haven't done a lot of this type of work, or, should I say, I haven't tried to be serious about it.  I just thought I'd try it to see how I could do if I set my mind to it.  getting serious

Y'all know I've had a boat load of dust on my sensor.  I was at my wits end today, and thought I'd try something.  I have a glass cleaning cloth that I got from my optometrist; I just remembered that today.  So, I got to thinking about it, and those kind of cloths don't attract dust.....so.....I committed a cardinal sin today.  I set my camera to "clean sensors", used the cloth on it, and got almost all of my spots off.  Mind you, I was scared to death; I was very gentle and cleaned it twice that way.  Anyway, I feel better about taking photos now......maybe I won't have to spend HOURS in Adobe removing so many spots.....before after The last shot still has some dust, like I said, but I can live with it.

I was driving to Bristol, TN the day of the shot.  We pulled over for a potty break and I was standing in front of the car when the timer went off.  We were out in the country and this is what I saw.   I looked up the hill and couldn't resist shooting this.

Sean (my 6 yr. old) was yelling out the car window, "Mom, what the heck are you doin'?".  

I couldn't resist adding this photo.  We pulled off the interstate at the exit for Bristol.  I'm trying to read mapquest directions and not run myself off the road at the same time when I hear Sean say, "Mom!  Look!  It's the Statue of Liberty!".  
To which I reply, "That's in New York.  Now, shush, Mommy's trying to drive."  (Somehow silence is supposed to help me not be lost?)
Sean:  (Indignent) "Mooooooom.  It IS the Statue of Liberty!".  
Me:  "No it's not!  THAT Statue is located in ........Oh...."

For all you country folk (I thought the title was catchy)lol. Well living out toward the country you sure see different subjects. Well here is one I never thought I'd be shooting, but I sure met an old country man that filled my ear with a tale or two. It was worth the trip.tractor1 tractor 2 tractor 3 tractor4 tractor5 the wheel kinda cool!

I went to the woods yesterday looking for signs of spring, found these.

In this shot, I wish I could have photographed the sound. The Spring Peepers were so loud there must have been thousands of them in the swamp.

These two guys I found on a dead possum. I'll not post the possum because some may not like the shot, but it is a part of nature. The shot is on my photo page if you dare to go see it. The Northern Carion Beetle and the  American Carion Beetle are two of natures many janitors. They feed on dead animals, etc.

And finally, this is surely a sign of spring in Pennsylvania. There is a John Deere in that dust cloud somewhere.

I was sitting in my living room and noticed the sun had come out from behind the clouds.  The first time in 3 days, so I grabbed up the kids and loaded them in the Jeep and went searching for the perfect place to take pictures of the sunset.  I took all these photos out the window of the car and within about a mile from my house.  I hope you enjoy them.

This is my test run.  I love this sight.  A friend told me about it and I love it.  I took this picture Memorial Day at a family get together.  I liked the way it turned out.

Ok, John, I went out and attempted to take pics at a cemetery today; I felt like I was invading somebody's territory. I apologize to anyone who's family might be in here; I don't mean any harm. I need critique on these; not sure even HOW to take pics in a place like this. There's a few more in my photos that I didn't put on the front page if you care to look. My weekend in Ashtabula takes me past the lakeshoe. Ice still is floating in the Lake. My niece requested train pic's.  I almost got killed by a train and the police stopped and asked if I were okay as I waited for one to pass I got these shots Walking to the tracks I passed tractors At the farm, I spotted this Birch tree And a weed Pussy Willow and dang it my fence didn't upload. It was just a grape vine, but I thought it to resemble a fence,catch you later.
