Bi-weekly challenge - T, D, & P

By MRQUACKERS written 7/11/08 11:10 AM, published 7/11/08 11:13 AM

Textures all around.  Designs can be hard to properly capture.  And patterns - if random is a pattern, I got it.

Some shot from around work, taking pictures of  Rubber bands and  Paper clips

Around home I found these  Flowers and pine
Just because I haven't done one for awhile  Rubber ducks

Not to be knocking the name of the challenge, but doesn't it sound like a railroad line?

Some shots from a local flower garden.  They've had these trains set up for a couple of years now, it's really an attention getter.

Mother's Day at the Beach

Spent Mother's Day camping at the beach in San Clemente.  Here's the obligatory Popup Linksurfer shot.  Down in San Clemente they have a Popup Linktrain whose Popup Linktracks run right along the beach.  Here's nice Popup Linksunset shot.  And Mother's Day would not be complete without some Popup Linkflowers.  Enjoy!

killin time at work

By ralf written 3/25/06 9:45 AM, published 3/25/06 9:45 AM
i've been trying to get some good reflection shots and work is boring so i have been trying to kill time.  i wasn't completely satisfied with my reflection shots, but i did get a couple that were okay.  Popup Linkmark's car gave me a decent reflection of the street out front.  then  Popup Linkwaiting for photographica download came out pretty cool.
i killed some more time by taking a shot of my Popup Linkdesk.  outside when coming back from lunch, i shot the Popup Linkrailroad tracks.
time to go home and got caught by the damn  Popup Linktrain.  one last shot of the  Popup Linkwaterfall near work didn't turn out the reflection i was looking for as it was hazy and began to rain as soon as i got out of the truck to take it.

Enjoy!

Weekend Wandering

Sunday found me wandering the byways of West Georgia towards Augusta.  Checking out the small towns (many dying) along the way.  I haven't had time to look through everything, but this is my favorite.

The Leica Freedom Train

By firemark written 3/13/06 11:27 AM, published 3/13/06 11:27 AM
I just received a very interesting email about the Leica camera company's efforts to save its employees from the Holocaust.

It's  a bit long to post here, but a worthwhile read.  (shouldn't take more than a minute or two to look at)

I've put it  up at http://www.firemark.net/lft.html

A good time at Ocktoberfest - and much much more!

By The Dancefloor written 9/30/05 10:06 AM, published 9/30/05 10:06 AM
My best friend Popup LinkLouis and I take a trip every year somewhere in the world.  A few years ago it was Ocktober fest in  Popup LinkMunich, Germany.   It was an amazing time, we saw the Popup LinkGlockenspeil, some great Popup Linkarchitecture and definitely some interesting historical sights like the Popup LinkHofbrauhaus.  But we were there for Ocktoberfest.  The first sign were getting close was this crazy Popup LinkHorse ... around the corner from that was the Popup LinkLowenbrau House located at the heart of the festival.  You'd never believe it but this is Popup Link9 o'clock AM and over 15K people are drinking!!!!  So, in all honesty se decided to go on a binge.  Well, that certainly deserves a
Popup LinkCHEERS! don't you think.
Next it was on a Popup Linktrain going to Popup LinkPrague home of the famous Popup LinkCharles Bridge and great architecture Popup Linkstreet 1, Popup Linkstreet 2, Popup Linksquare.   There were some absolutely beautiful Popup Linkcolors , Popup Linkwindows, Popup Linkstatues,  Popup Linkflowers, Popup Linktrees and Popup Linkcars?
On the journey we met a friend Popup LinkBarb who took us through aPopup Linkcorridor and up this incredibly long Popup Linkstairwell  to see an awesome  Popup LinkChurch.   After that hike we went for a drink overlooking the Popup Linksquarefrom before.  We jumped a train to Amsterdam and as soon as we got there it was straight to a Popup Linkcoffee shop where all memories where lost.

Thank god I have a camera.

Odds & Ends

By KayN written 8/14/05 12:14 PM, published 8/14/05 12:14 PM
Went to IL yesterday to visit family.  At my brother-in-laws cabin in the woods, I noticed this in the Popup Linkcreek.  Walking around back, I found a modern  Popup Linkouthouse.
Later in the day, there was a storm brewing; here's a couple of shots of the  Popup Linkclouds,  Popup Link2,  Popup Link3.
I noticed this yesterday on the way over, so coming back home today I got what shots I could from the vehicle (no, I wasn't driving!) of the  Popup Linktrain Popup Linkderailment on Popup LinkI 55 from last week.  Sorry I didn't get better shots of this; hard to do from the truck, though.  Hope y'all enjoy!
