I figured I would show you two loves of my life, leaving me honey for later.
This picture I took while I was in Nashville Tenn. to visit my Son. I love trains and this is one of the largest of the steam trains, and also one of the last before the modern ones came in. I took this with my Cannon Rebel X with a 35-80mm zoom lens it was midday I used a polarizing filter to block some sun.

I have been playing around a lot lately with leaving a touch of color in pictures I convert to b&w. B&W's have always been my favorite shots, but I really like a splash of color.
As a side note, this was shot as the train was going by and I was hoping to get a wheel in there. Maybe next time.

I work with a guy who has devoted most of his life to model railroading. I believe this is called "G" scale. The cars are about 18-20 inches long.
These were taken yesterday, freehand, in 34 degree temps, with the train moving. With the exception of the first shot, all that was done
was auto-levelling, and cropping.
I was kind of surprised at how life-like
a few of the shots turned out after I
cropped them. Hope you like, and I
apologize for so many pix....

Took a drive up to Horseshoe Curve today to try shooting a few of the passing trains. A real nice day to be in the mountains, but I am not extremely pleased with my work. I went to the trouble, will share it anyway.
Saw this field in the late afternoon light just outside St. Thomas, liked it, shot it.

Notice How The Low Late Day Sunlight Lights Up The Trees Along The River Bank And Also The Ground. I Think The Late Day Lighting Gives An Oil Painting Effect To The Image. Enjoy
