To clone or not to clone........

The following picture was taken two weeks ago on my way to a community college chemistry teachers conference that was held in Leavenworth, WA. The town is about 1 1/2 hours East of Seattle and some day I would like to plan a vacation in which I could spend a couple of days to take in the sights.

 Leavenworth

I like the picture over all but there is dead tree in the foreground and I am not sure whether to clone it out or not. It seems it is a distraction but I feel that cloning it out would be cheating the natural beauty of the area. I am not against cloning in general and have done it in the past especially with specks and lens flare. Any thoughts will be appreciated. I am leaning to clone it out.

This picture was taken at my NCO (ALS) graduation right before I put on SSgt....My husband and I were both in the Air Force......since then he has gotten out, but I'm still aroundPopup LinkSSGT

I have always loved taking pics and having pics all over my house, but last year I've gotten really into it.
The pics are from Mt. Rainier last Christmas, when it was cold and there was plenty of snow....and I just happen to catch a beautiful Washington suset somewhere a long the way......Popup Linksnow Popup Linkcold Popup LinkMt. Rainier Popup Linksunset

Port Angeles Washington and The Olympic National Park

By photogbob written 4/10/06 6:55 PM, published 4/10/06 6:55 PM
When I first saw Port Angeles, WA, I knew that this is where I'd retire. I fell in love with it's beauty instantly. PA (as we call it) is located on the upper Olympic peninsula and only a few miles from the most northwest point in the lower 48 states (Neah Bay). To the north is the Strait of Juan De Fuca and Victoria Canada is only 20 miles across. To the south is the Olympic MountainsPopup LinkView of Hurricane Ridge Olympic National Park and from one of the country's largest natural spits the view is awesome. Storms from the north / northwest tend to travel through the Strait of Juan De Fuca and the cloud formations are sometimes spectacularPopup LinkClouds over strait
Port Angeles Harbor in a deep water harbor and is refuge for many ships in need of repair. The waterfront trail offers beautiful views of the harbor Popup LinkView of harbor and from the pier, the views are spectacular in all directions. Popup LinkPier, Port Angeles Harbor PA is also host to A Coast Guard Base Popup LinkUS Coast Guard Base which is located at the very end of the spit.
From Port Angeles, you can access The Olympic National Park from several points and all are within 2-3 hours away. The main entrance is located in Port Angeles and allows access to Hurricane ridge. Lake Crescent is situated in the Park and only 20 minutes from PA. Popup LinkLake Crescent
Well that's a quick tour of where I live and I hope you enjoy it. I'll be doing photo-stories on the Hoh Rain forest (one of the few temperate rain forests in the US)where the annual rainfall averages 145 inches year and as high as 240 inches, and on the coastal part of the Olympic National Park, specifically Ruby Beach.

Vacation last week. Went to Seattle and San Juan Islands. Orcas, specifically. Seattle broke its rainy day streak when we arrived and we had most days with no precip. :] Pictures were tough due to very low light and I forgot my tripod at home. I did use a little table-top tripod for some shots, though. I tried for some good landscapes. As usual, though, I can't stay out of absract mode for long. Here's some of the pics:

I'm beginning work on a website for a local nonprofit that provides low-cost spaying and neutering services. I took some pix yesterday of friends and their pets. Here are some outtakes:
