The only thing these pictures have in common is that I took them on a recent trip to Montana.
We had record snowfall amounts in the North Cascades this winter, and this is the result of the spring melt (it was raining in addition to the spray and mist, resulting in an almost dreamlike quality - except for the deafening roar of the water) Snoqualmie_Falls1
This one I should have had for the BLUE challenge - how many shades can you count (aqua counts too) Flathead_Lake (I know the horizon should be higher or lower, but I couldn't move it without losing shades of blue in the sky or water).
And finally, lots of timber industry in Montana, as you might imagine, and I liked the look of these bundles of fence_posts

Between noon and two o'clock we had a very big rain shower, but now the heat is already up to 80 degrees and humid. Not a day to be outside, but I am cool indoors and thinking about a walk we took around Frederick Meijer Gardens.
Usually I like natural light better ... but I'll let you choose.
I love being by the water and as luck would have it I drive by these falls a couple times a week now. They are in Kent Ct. and are the Kent
GOOSEBERRY STATE PARK
Oh how
Please enjoy the drive.
Here's some more barn and barn-related shots. See if you can see the dog in the one, you've got a clue already in the title, I didn't until he went crazy barkin' and I almost soiled myself. For some reason Barb was more amused than scared.
Walking around the golf course behind my house.. enjoy. :)
My daughter and her friend have had me take their pictures at this waterfall the last couple years. We hike in and they choose where they want to pose and how to pose, I just take the pics. It is always exciting because alot of the time I am not standing on level ground but precariously on a boulder or the side of the bluffs. It is shaded and it was with an afternoon sun.
Today
i've been trying to get some good reflection shots and work is boring so i have been trying to kill time. i wasn't completely satisfied with my reflection shots, but i did get a couple that were okay.
Here are a some pictures that I took while going through the
at Scrap Daddy's:
Last year, my husband and I went on a snowshoe hike in search of a frozen waterfall! We tried the weekend before, but somehow we made a wrong turn.. Knowing how tough the trail was the first time. I really... didn't want to go again so soon. But boy was it worth it.... We did go to breakfast first.. here.
I went to
Here is another of my water shots from the NC mountains. Also, the site for a NC photographer that started like most of us....just having a fascination with picking up a camera and shooting the outdoors...specifically water. I bought his first book about 12 years ago. I had never heard of him, but the book was about shooting NC waterfalls, so it caught my eye immediately. As coincidences usually happen, I took the book to work at that time( a custom photo lab) and showed it to a friend. Lo and behold,he new the guy and his family as he grew up near them. Funny how that works. Anyway,if you like to shoot the outdoors, especially around water, mountains, beach I recommend you check out his site.
Everyone's saying they'll be glad when spring gets here but I like all the seasons. It's March and that means it's time for high school basketball finals here in Indiana and it usually snows during them. This winter has been very short on snow in our area so it doesn't look promising... but I'm hoping. Here's a pic from last year from the corner of our backyard.
