....The Fool On The Hill?

To change the subject... First of spring. I think I'm really going to like that macro lens.

Have a great day all. I'm back to and finishing up the coast shots. I'll pick out a few good ones for tomorrows post.

Here is a set of four images (not the same wave) showing the way the waves were developing over there on Saturday. I'll post more with different vantage points later but I thought these made a good series.

To give you a size perspective the rail fence up on that bluff is about four and a half feet tall.

Tech note: All were taken with a Canon 40D, Canon 18-40mm L lens and tripod with a remote shutter release. I used manual mode and manual focus all preset to enable me to watch everything unfold and hit the remote as I wanted to.  

It was windy here all day yesterday so I drove down to Marina di Pisa to try to get some shots of the waves and the sunset.  It was fun to try to get a decent picture and not get soaked by a random wave that would make it to the street.  These pictures are the better ones I could get:

After a week of almost balmy weather here in S.E. Wisconsin (mid 30s to low 40s), normal temperatures have returned. I slipped off to Lake Michigan on Sunday when it was in the low 20s and very windy. I came back with these images.

The wind was picking up quite a bit here today and we had some waves breaking 2 or maybe 2 1/2 inches on the lake. Rough.

The Sumac is pushing for spring. This  Bud almost looked like it had a freaky little face. From this  angle , just  another bud.

Also want to let all know that the next Bi-Weekly Challenge will be hosted by BusyB beginning 1/29. Don't know about you folks, but I have had one very good time seeing the Childhood Memories that have been posted and look forward to seeing more this week!

I took 7 shots of this little Lady on a great wave... Why....?  because ...  She's my daughter... Dr. Samara Shelby Foster... ..  She had a wicked cool teacher...   Wooo Hooo... what a kid......

The size of a wave can be quite Deciving.. with nothing to judge the size... until you drop in the Surfer... Then.. the Closer you get... The  Larger they get...

Wooo Hooo...  just doing what a SurferGuy should do....

Between Christmas and New Years, we spent a few days in Maui. While taking a few shots of waves, I caught a  Sea Turtle doing some body surfing.

How could such a Beautiful Morning..be the end to such a turley miserable year...  As I gazed at this mornings Gifts... as every I do every morning I thank god I was allowed to live my life as I have... to enjoy each  Passing Wave... as another chapter in the life of an ageing SurferGuy...  and with the  Passing of the final wave of 2005... I wish the best that the new year can and will bring to each and everyone of you ...
