We took Hana to a wedding Saturday of friends of ours, Eric and Michelle, from Roadhouse. I forgot she was there though, luckily one of the girls remembered her. She asked me, "Don, where's your little doll?" which kinda threw me. "It's not a doll it's a daruma. Guys don't have dolls we have action figures and daruma is japanese for action figure!", I lied to her, trying vainly to defend my manhood. Apologies to our Japanese members. Here's Hana...
Don and Barb took me to the wedding I was invited to by Michelle, one of my friends from Roadhouse. The church was very pretty and there were a lot of people there but a lot of them were my friends. I had a
seat of my own to watch from. Michelle had a very beautiful dress and she cried a lot until it was over and then
she was very happy . Don said brides cry during the wedding and grooms cry during the marriage. After the wedding was over we were going to a reception and we had to leave early to setup a slide show Don made for them. There were
decorations on all the tables and a big
wedding cake that looked like a stack of presents. There was a lot of good food and beer. Barb and Don knew the cook and they took home a bunch of leftovers.
I didn't drink any beer, I learned my lesson last time, but Don did. Once when Barb was putting some money in his wallet, he yelled for everyone to look and he took a picture of the first time Barb ever put money
INTO his wallet. He thought it was funny until Barb reminded him that in the picture you couldn't tell if the money was going in or out.
I got to dance. I danced with Don and Barb's son
Donnie & Michelle and also with
Barb and Eric. I danced so much I got tired and had to go
sit with Don. I had a great time, dancing and meeting everyone's family. Everyone wanted to know about me... I told them "I'm a daruma, that's japanese for girl's doll... and Don brought me"! Everyone thought that was funny, except Don. Barb told me to do it. hee hee
What a I would really like comments/suggestions especially on the pic of the bride. Thought it would look best in b/w, but this is not what I envisioned. Is it even worth messing with? The original is RAW format, so I have some flexibility. Both versions have been cropped somewhat and the contrast & saturation were adjusted a little. Thanks!
(The best action/party pics will be shown later this week as soon as the relatives all leave town.)
Okay, okay....I couldn't help putting in a flower picture...had to get my giggles out of Tom's earlier post. Now that is out of my system...here are some pics from the wedding....
Well, I didn't get to go to Cascades State Park today, something else came up. So I had a bad cse of cabin fever and was browsing thru some photos I took at Great Smoky Mountain National Park last October. Heres a pic of an old
Our youngest son got married last month. They were planning on having a big wedding but after much discussion they decided to have a smaller wedding and use the money they saved to buy furniture. The place the wedding took place was the Farrington House an historic building here that is used as a bed and breakfast now. I has a beautiful ball room that has
fireplace and a lot of
stained glass . It was kind of an old-fashioned wedding when people got married at home a lot.
Maybe I'll bring back some pics from our trip to the casinos this week.

hey ppl, sorry for not posting lately, but its a bit hectic down here in Holland, last few days counting down for the wedding! Monday the 31st! in London that is! Here you have a pic of the ~|Enjoy|~
Well, they were taken BEFORE the current theme was announced, at my wedding, (by my best man and others) but here's the essence of what MUSIC is to me.
First...
My Muse . Cassandra. She is my Sun, my Moon, and all the stars in the sky, and when she's near, there's music playing.
My
Best Man Bob, is a professional musician, and agreed to have his band,
The Bob Marino Little Big Band , (
(another angle) perform at my wedding... which is not their usual kind of gig.
Tom is Bob's brother, and also a professional. He was kind enough to play for our processional and recessional.
But for me, the picture that says it all is
me crooning to my new wife during the reception. (I'd never sung in public before that day).
"It had to be you
It had to be you
I wandered around
and finally found
somebody who
Could make me be true
Could make me feel blue
or even be glad
just to be sad
thinking of you...."
As you can see, music plays a big role in my life.
Off to the L.A. County fair today... I'm sure I'll find more musical imagery there!
Stay tuned!
