Challenge Entry

Triple action

By Arddwyn written 6/9/06 10:34 AM, published 6/9/06 10:34 AM
I was really excited when I read this morning about the new challenge with action pictures because I love to experiment with the camera. I was looking to post a couple of pictures of my vacation that just ended a few days ago and it seems I have a few action pictures there to start with.
I know there are plenty of Sea World pictures around, but I couldn't resist to include thisPopup Linkflying leap in my entry. We encountered this African Musicians that were really energetic and had the fastest  Popup Linkhands I've ever seen. I took three shots at different speeds trying to freeze the hands while moving and they all had the Blur movement in them. Finally this one was taken a few weeks ago. I had a friend walk in front of the camera at night while I shinned a flashlight on her for this Popup LinkLong exposure shot.

Short trip

I was able to get off work for a few days so we went to visit relatives at Alert Bay. Half the island was an indian reservation with Popup LinkTotem poles  Popup LinkTotem faces Popup Linkboats and  while we were fishing some Popup Linkwhales came upto the side of our boat. I'll post more later.

Animals!

I was going through some pictures and found that I had a lot of pictures of animals. So here's a little story of some animals. Our journey is going to start at Popup LinkSea World. Where they have Popup Linkdolphins,  Popup Linkbaluga whales,  Popup Linkturtles and the world famous Popup LinkShamu. Who is not the only one who knows how to  Popup Linkwave. We can't forget the pink Popup Linkflamingoes, and  Popup Linkhungry seals. And of course my personal favorite the always hard to photograph  Popup Linkbat ray.

After Sea World we go to the domestic animals, my personal favorite,  Popup LinkAnubis, my kitty and  Popup LinkCoconut, my fiance's kitty. Here is them being  Popup Linkshy, Coconut had some knotts in her fur and wasn't thrilled about getting a hair cut.  Here's Coconut looking at something, Popup Linkcurious. And Anubis doing what he does Popup Linkbest.

And now a trip to the beach where for some reason there was a large number of Popup Linksea clams, and later that night there was a  Popup Linkjellyfish, kinda startling since we set up 'camp' for surf fishing right behind there.

Now back to Colorado where we met Popup LinkGuiness at the wolf santuary. And at the Mountain Zoo we met some sleepy Popup Linkriver otters, a  Popup Linklittle monkey, and a  Popup Linkhippo. Back at the Royal Gorge there were some natives a  Popup Linkbuffalo, and an Popup Linkelk.

And that concludes todays lesson. Enjoy.
