Figurine by Ambient light.
This project I created sometime last year!..These next few photo's are my second attempt at shooting still life using only ambient light. I shot them in Olympus RAW and processed them using Adobe Bridge. The background is white and the figurine is white. I made a mini studio in my window sill using stiff white card and used the bathroom mirror to reflect some of the light back onto the subject. Some of this light was too harsh in a couple of the pictures but I think I found the right balance for the others. I used an Olympus E-400 and 40-150 zoom for this project...
I had planned on uploading more photos, but had to play with Alivia instead. I did get these 2 loaded, they are straight from the camera.
Thanks for looking and any comments! Have a Wonderful Weekend everyone! :o)
The Secret Gardens White Tigers
I had to see the white tigers, that was a must. It was 111 degrees so they were trying their best to keep cool. I had fun watching and photographing her in the water.
these were all taken thru chainlink. I was pretty happy that its hard to see the chainlink.
Thanks for looking, more tomorrow. Have a Great Day! :o)
It had been more than 6 months since I last used it, but last Monday's heavy (by our standards) snowfall in London finally motivated me to pick up my 5D and start shooting everything in sight on my way to work - yes, people were still walking to work - and I wasn't the only one with that idea. Some didn't even compromise on their choice of footwear.
Arriving at London Bridge station I passed a postcard-worthy Southwark Cathedral just south of the Thames. The picture doesn't do it justice. Crossing the river, I walked past the Bank of England and St Paul's Cathedral, near my office, which was almost empty for the day.
On the way back I visited Canary Wharf, London's other business district, for a quick drink - it didn't work out. So instead I went to the open space nearest to my house, at the convention center. I didn't think there would be any photo opportunities but I have never seen a team of men working so hard towards a common goal. I don't know what it was, but for sure their lives depended on it.
In conclusion, this is the picture of a phone booth that by law must accompany every post on London.
