Making Port Wine

One of the local wineries had a port tasting yesterday, and they also allowed you to make your own.  It is a very interesting process and getting the right mixture of everything is more important than I realized.  That can be some nasty tasting stuff if the mix ain't right!  I took too many pics to post, so I combined them for you; hope you can get the gist of my day by looking Popup Linkat Popup Linkthese.

The day started out like Popup Linkthis and this little fella came back for a Popup Linkvisit, too.  All in all, it was a great day!

Hope y'all enjoy!

Wine and brickworks

Two completely unrelated subjects.

cathelle's photos of abandoned buildings inspired me to dig up this photo of the nearby Popup Linkbrickworks  that I took a while back. I like it much better after converting to black and white and playing around a bit.

I spent last weekend down in Margaret River. We bought lots of wine for the Popup Linkwine rack, and watched the Popup Linksunset. Sometimes I think taking photos of sunsets is cheating because it's so easy to get a great shot.

Gathered up a few items and placed them on the table.  Discovered that I had no good way of eliminating or blocking the background images from other room and still life shots from above just didn't do much for me.

Arranging the items was a challenge as I can't even arrange my sock drawer.

But here they are.  Popup Linkbacklit bottle

We went to the winery here yesterday; didn't get many shots, but I got a few.  They had a wreath made out of Popup Linkcorks that looked pretty neat.  I also saw these wine Popup Linkstoppers.  Tried my hand at capturing  Popup Linkbubbles, too.

Not much else going on....in a photo funk, I think....been watching the  Popup Linkbirds Popup Linkagain.  I've seen  Popup Linkthese several times, but have no idea what they are; anybody else know?

Hope y'all enjoy.....

I recently bought a house in Hoquiam, WA. It's a cute little house, but needs some work to make it my home. So, I've been spending two days out of the week down working on it. This was the first weekend that I stayed both days. I spent most of the time tearing down plywood walls in the upstairs. I found some interesting things hidden in the walls.
