We go to the Valley for a few days every Winter, and this was our first snowfall while there. You can only look at so many snowy cliffs and trees, but I thought you might enjoy these.

Been away for a while and missed you all. Part of it was our annual midwinter trip to Yosemite. The falls were just a trickle and the snow was sparse, but happily, so were the people.

I went to Yosemite over the last summer, and I just got the pictures up. We were in a less travelled part of the park, on  a hike. We went up a very steep path, to an Overlook. What a view! When I turned around, I found myself Looking down Yosemite Valley . On the way back, we went off the trail, and found this beautiful river somewhere in yosemite . A little farther on, we found Twollome medows . (sorry about the poor quality pictures, this is my first time.)

On one of my trips to Yosemite National Park, I came across this story time session. Here a Park Volunteer was reading a story to the kids. It was interesting to see this one particular kid so engrossed in the story. On the contrary, the girl next to him seemed so disinterested that it showed. I just couldnt help capturing the expressions, they say it all.

My favorite vacation spot in the world. I have been there over 6 times in last 10 years and am always ready to go there. On this particular trip I decided to experiment with black and white film. Tunnel View provides a perfect view of the valley which was carved by glaciers. Here is a view of the layers and layers of mountains close to sunset ( shades of grey - Horizontal , shades of grey - Horizontal ).  And this is beautiful half dome.

During our two day visit to Yosemite I took about 100 photos.  One could stop every few feet to capture great views, and surely several photo ops were missed. Presented here is just a small sample.

 Most old Sequoias have "burn scars."  The trees are very hardy and during their long lifetime manage to survive forest fires

Spent the weekend in Yosemite. What a challenging place to photograph!  The most amazing aspect of the park, besides the incredible beauty, is the scale, which seems virtually impossible to convey via a photograph.  It is also a challenge to take pictures that are not ordinary like this one. I did make a few attempts at the  surreal. But the beauty was both big and  small. In the end, you could go out of your tree trying to capture it all. I think I need to get a polarizing filter.

This is my first posting to this site. This is one of my favorite photos that I took on a recent trip to Yosemite. I was able to capture the clouds rolling in before a storm.

I visited Yosemite in 2003. It's one of my favorite places. I took this photo on the way back to Tenaya Lodge. I shot it using a Canon Powershot G3. The image is made up of 5 seperate photos (all shot handheld) and then stitched together on my computer.

Just made our annual winter pilgrimage to Yosemite, and even though I'll never be Ansel Adams (I can't even play the piano), I'm beginning to begin to learn how to photograph that superb site.

I went to Yosemite this weekend and hiked up Yosemite Fall. It took 6 hours to get up and down the trail but the view was well worth it.
